Q: What will happen to my details if I apply for a role?
A: If you're applying for a specific opportunity, HR will initially screen your application before forwarding it to the department concerned. Your profile will be assessed against the specific criteria for the vacancy for which you have applied and you will receive written communication regarding the initial outcome of your application.

Q: I'm keen to move because I've become pigeon-holed. Will I suffer the same problem at Altro?
A: As a world-leader in our sector, we're constantly generating new opportunities across our entire spectrum of disciplines, and we definitely do not view career development as a straight line. If your talents and ambitions lead you in a particular direction, we'll talk to you, support you, coach you and do everything we can to help.
Q: How easy is it to move between functions?
A: There are no barriers to prevent you switching between functions. There are plenty of examples of people who have established themselves in one role moving laterally in mid-career, to great success. If at some point you see a way that your skills could fit elsewhere in the organisation, start by talking to your manager or the Human Resources Department.

Q: How long before I'm eligible for financial benefits such as Altro shares?
A: The moment you join Altro as a permanent employee you will automatically qualify to become a member of our Pension scheme. As a temporary employee on a fixed term contract you will not be offered membership of the Company Pension Scheme. However, you will be paid a supplement as an equivalent benefit. Full details of this will be discussed with you on joining the company. All employees can also take advantage of our annual Share Scheme provided you have at least six months service at the date of the award.
Q: My package includes a company car. Can I choose the make and model myself?
A: The choice of cars within each grade at Altro has been widely extended by the introduction of ‘lease cars’ in order to address the following:
- meet lifestyle or work related issues
- give company car drivers the choice of choosing tax efficient vehicles
- ensure that all vehicles are cost efficient in terms of maintenance, residual values and fuel consumption
Employees who are entitled to a company car for the first time may be allocated cars, not necessarily within their grade, that may become available within the Company, in order to avoid early termination of any lease contract.
