March 6th 2006… Letchworth/Maiden Newton/Lowestoft-based Altro has today been ranked amongst the UK’s Top 100 Best Companies to Work For, according to this year’s prestigious Sunday Times survey. The flooring and walling specialist is celebrating after receiving the accolade in recognition of its cultural environment.
Staff at the Works Road headquarters/ Station Road Industrial Estate/ Pinbush Road base are marking the occasion by throwing a huge party, with buffet, cakes and music, while gifts will be handed out to all employees. Local MP, Oliver Heald will attend to present a certificate to Altro chief executive, Richard Kahn, and oversee the release of 100 balloons. [this last sentence is just for Letchworth].
The achievement is also being celebrated simultaneously at Altro’s subsidiaries around the world, including Sweden, America and Australia.
As part of the process in winning its listing, Altro staff were asked questions about the company’s training and development programme and the availability of career opportunities within the organisation. Also taken into account is the communication and understanding of business goals and performance, working conditions and the company’s contribution to the local community.
