Letchworth/ Lowestoft/ Maiden Newton-based Altro has again won a place the UK’s Top 100 Best Companies to Work For listing in recognition of its cultural environment, according to this year’s prestigious Sunday Times survey.
Interior surfaces specialist Altro and its sister company Autoglym, the automotive care product manufacturer, are celebrating the group’s move up the rankings to 73rd place. Staff at the Works Road headquarters/ Station Road Industrial Estate/ Pinbush Road base were joined in their celebrations by the group’s international workforce based at subsidiaries around the world, including Sweden, America and Australia.
The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For awards are the recognised benchmark for research into employee satisfaction in the UK. Altro staff were asked questions about training and development, the communication and understanding of business goals and performance, working conditions and the company’s contribution to the local community.
Richard Kahn, chief executive of Altro, said: “We are delighted that the contribution of all our employees across the group has been recognised with our ranking in 73rd place in this year’s survey. To be named in the Top 100 is, in itself, outstanding, but to have moved up the list from last year’s 96th position is a tremendous achievement of which we are all particularly proud.”
The Sunday Times accolade is the latest in a long line of recent successes by the Altro Group. Last month, His Royal Highness The Duke of York visited the group’s head office in Letchworth Garden City in his capacity as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment and officially opened new state-of-the-art facilities.
