ALTRO PACKAGE OFFERS WINNING ALTERNATIVE TO TILES
Altro Whiterock Chameleon and Altro Marine 20 safety flooring has been installed in a busy Scottish gym.
When Living Well decided to refurbish the changing rooms in their Strathclyde Premier health club the company turned to Altro to supply an alternative to the existing ceramic tiles. LivingWell had become disillusioned with the relatively short life-span of a ceramic tile installation and were unimpressed with how difficult grouting joints were to keep clean.
For specifiers at LivingWell Altro Whiterock Chameleon was the ideal replacement for the aging wall tiles. Unlike tiles, Chameleon can be seamlessly welded to create a smooth surface, which is easy to wipe down and offers no areas for dirt to get trapped. LivingWell also chose Altro Marine 20 for the changing room’s wet areas. Maine20 has a dimpled surface to offer exceptional grip in wet areas.
Paul Graham, LivingWell Projects and Facilities Manager, said: “In the past we have used ceramic tiles on the floors and walls of our changing rooms, but have become increasingly dissatisfied with how hard the tiles are to maintain. By using seamlessly welded Altro Whiterock Chameleon we have been able to achieve a totally smooth finish, which makes the whole area very easy to clean.”
