Bonnyville Health Centre

Canadian hospital completes surgical unit with Altro Whiterock

Altro Whiterock

Bonnyville, Alberta, Canada - Bonnyville Hospital was first established in 1919 in Alberta, Canada and would quickly outgrow and expand its original facility in 1929. In 1986, Bonnyville Hospital would merge with two more hospitals to become the Bonnyville Health Centre we know today - providing a full range of health services such as emergency, short and long-term care to a diverse and growing community.

In keeping with the needs of this booming community, Bonnyville Health Centre realized the need to expand and add a new surgical unit. The absolute need for a hygienic, medical-grade, durable and aesthetically-pleasing wall was what prompted Action Flooring in Alberta, Canada to recommend Altro Whiterock for their new surgical suites.

Due to the nature of the space, this was a very technical installation that required numerous cutouts around air supply, pipes, and other fittings. For this reason, Action Flooring, in partnership with Erv Parent the Altro distributor, contracted Kalman Contracting, an authorized Altro trained installer, to do the work of installing 130 sheets of Altro’s Whiterock.

Altro Whiterock’s hygienic, smooth surface makes it a top choice for healthcare — in which sterile areas are of utmost importance. Its impact-resistance, grout-free installation and easy-to-clean surface will withstand the test of time for years to come.
