Easton, Massachusetts - Stonehill College, based in Easton Massachusetts, decided to update some of their student bathrooms and kitchen spaces to make life easier for both the students who use them, and the staff responsible for making sure these areas remain clean. The renovation project included five multi-fixture bathroom and kitchen areas along with two single use bathrooms inside multiple student dorm buildings, featuring upgrades to both the showers and back splash in the kitchens.
KSID Architecture and Interior design firm, based in Massachusetts, was selected for the design project. Due to the nature of who would be using the finished product, KSID needed a wall cladding solution that was cost-effective, durable, and most importantly, easy to clean.
Working closely with Altro sales representatives, KSID decided to move forward with Altro Tegulis because of its traditional tile look and feel, something that could replace the old tile walls that were originally installed in the showers and be used in the kitchenettes as a hygienic backsplash.
For the shower and bathroom areas, Altro Tegulis was chosen in the color Standard White with a Subway tile design. This selection gave the bathrooms a traditional look but with the added benefit of Altro Tegulis’ unrivaled cleanability and hygiene. For the backsplash in their kitchenettes, Altro Tegulis was selected in the color Autumn Weave with a Herringbone pattern, giving the kitchen a warmer at home look and feel that highlights the kitchenette.
With Altro Tegulis now installed, the cleaning staff has seen a serious improvement. The facility particularly appreciated Altro Tegulis’ cleanability as the previous shower tiles would appear dirty despite routine cleaning. Stonehill College is now equipped to offer students a more hygienic living space, all well reducing the amount of time required to ensure these facilities are clean.
