Altro were a partner on the Field of Dreams Project – the construction of a new dedicated cricket clubhouse on Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment. The vision of the Trent Bridge Community Trust is to leave a true legacy from the Ashes Test Series at Trent Bridge 2013-15, the clubhouse will drive the trust’s aim of bringing cricket and football facilities back into the heart of the city of Nottingham.
Twenty-one organisations were involved in the project. The original plan was to refurbish the pavilion but the building was run down and did not meet current access and governing body guidelines. The old building was demolished, but features of it were used for the new pavilion.
For the new build, Altro safety flooring was used throughout the main circulation area, bathrooms, changing rooms and kitchen. For the main circulation area and changing rooms, Altro Atlas was used. Altro Atlas 40 is our most robust safety flooring, maintaining its integrity even with sports shoes with studs or spikes. It’s well suited to heavy duty industrial use and sports changing rooms. Hard-wearing, stable, and resistant to mechanical damage and chemicals, Altro Atlas 40 provides long term durability and slip resistance, and is easy to clean and maintain.
For the bathrooms, Altro Aquarius was used. Altro Aquarius is an innovative flooring suitable for any type of shoe, including hard and soft soled, rubber and trainers, as well as bare feet. Achieving a pendulum test value of PTV ≥50, R11 and Class B to DIN51097 for barefoot use, Altro Aquarius provides optimum lifetime sustained slip-resistance.
For the kitchen, Altro Stronghold 30 specialist safety flooring was used. Altro Stronghold 30 achieves Altro’s highest rating for slip resistance, and is designed to minimise risk in wet and greasy conditions for the lifetime of the flooring. As well as helping to keep staff safe from slips, it also helps reduce their fatigue, thanks to its 3mm thickness which provides noise reduction and comfort underfoot.
