Important changes to the safe use of products containing diiosocyanates
From 24 August 2023 professional users of products containing diiosocyanates, are required by law to carry out mandatory training to allow the continued safe use of these products.
For Altro customers, users of AltroFix W139, AltroFix 19 Plus and all Altro PU Resins are affected. For a full list, see technical documents. However, by undertaking a short training course, users are able to safely continue with their use even after August 2023.
From 24th February 2022, all businesses who supply products containing diiosocyanates, a component used in many adhesive and resin-based products, must change their labelling. New labels must inform users that changes are afoot from August 2023.
Look out for the new labels on the Altro products listed above, which will contain the following wording:
As from 24 August 2023 adequate training is required before industrial or professional use.
ISOPA and ALIPA, the trade associations for the industry, have created a very useful website Safe use of Diisocyanates - Home EN where you can find all of the details relating to the changes, and information on how to find a training course.
