Massachusetts college-preparatory boarding and day school installed Altro Stronghold 30 and Altro Puraguard in its newly renovated dining hall creating a high-performance kitchen environment.
As part of a recent renovation to the school’s dining hall, “The Brick,” the Academy sought durable, high-performance materials for its new state-of-the-art kitchen spaces. The Brick serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner year round to students and employees, and to guests during special events.
With such a busy operation, the dining team needed flooring and wall solutions that could withstand the demands of a high-traffic commercial kitchen environment while supporting safety, comfort, and long-term durability.
For safety flooring, Altro Stronghold 30 was selected. Altro Stronghold 30 is the ideal solution for commercial kitchens, maintaining its one-in-a-million slip resistance even with vegetable oil, greasy water, and flour underfoot. In addition to enhancing safety, its 3mm thickness helps reduce fatigue by providing comfort underfoot and minimizing noise in busy working environments.
For the walls, Altro Puraguard was selected for its durability, hygiene, and low-maintenance performance in back-of-house spaces. The PVC wall panels are well-suited for demanding commercial kitchen environments, including dishwashing areas, pantries, storage rooms, service corridors, and janitorial spaces.
With the combination of Altro Stronghold 30 and Altro Puraguard, Deerfield Academy’s newly-renovated dining hall now features a cohesive, high performance kitchen environment designed to support safety, durability, and everyday operations for years to come.
