Designing a high-performing surgical centre requires materials that withstand heavy traffic, rolling loads, and rigorous cleaning protocols without disrupting operations.
Designers, CUBE 3, prioritised materials that balanced clinical performance with human-centred design. Versatile flooring and wall systems were specified to meet the varied requirements of operating rooms, corridors, recovery bays, support spaces and wet areas, while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic across the facility.
Altro Operetta was installed throughout recovery and operating theatre corridors, nurse stations, support rooms, storage areas, alcoves, sterile processing spaces and changing rooms. Its smooth, impervious surface supports rigorous cleaning regimes and performs reliably in medium to high traffic environments, while accommodating rolling loads and flooring transitions.
In the operating theatres, Altro Suprema was specified to support the controlled requirements of surgical environments.
Altro Whiterock wall systems provide smooth, welded surfaces that offer excellent hygiene, durability and ease of cleaning. Carefully selected colour palettes help create a calm, focused atmosphere suited to clinical spaces.
Recovery bays feature Altro Wood flooring, introducing a warmer, biophilic aesthetic that enhances patient comfort during recovery without compromising hygiene or performance. The wood-look finish softens the clinical setting and creates a more welcoming environment for patients and their families.
In changing room showers, Altro Aquarius safety flooring provides enhanced slip resistance and dependable moisture protection. Its durable, easy-to-clean surface supports long-term safety and hygiene in wet, high-use areas.
