Built through community fundraising and volunteer support, Hoveringham Adventure Centre now offers safe, durable and welcoming spaces for thousands of young people. Altro floors and walls help the busy centre stay robust, hygienic and easy to clean.

Hoveringham Adventure Centre was created through the fundraising efforts of the Nottinghamshire Scouting community, who raised £500,000 through donations, goodwill and years of volunteer support to build the much-needed new centre. Scout leaders and volunteers who are also construction professionals gave their time, skills and energy to help bring the vision to life by contributing to the build.
The new centre was completed and officially opened by Chief Scout Dwayne Fields. Replacing a facility comprising an old site office that had long been outgrown, the new building has transformed what the centre can offer. It now provides larger changing rooms, more showers and toilets, a fully equipped accessible wet room and two classrooms for adult training. Designed to cope with heavy footfall while remaining easy to clean, safe and welcoming, the centre is already proving its value.
In the last year alone, it has supported 40,000 adventurous activity hours, including kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, rafting, sailing, archery and climbing. Most importantly, it gives thousands of young people every year the chance to get outdoors, challenge themselves, build confidence and experience the sense of belonging that Scouting brings.
Altro supported the centre by providing a combination of floors and walls. Altro Oceanis, Altro Tegulis, Altro Whiterock Satins and Altro Whiterock wall designs were used throughout the changing rooms, showers and toilet areas providing a safe, robust and easy to clean environment. Altro Illustra safety floor was installed throughout the communal areas, classrooms and kitchen for safety and durability for high footfall.
