The combination of Altro Stronghold 30 safety flooring and Altro Whiterock hygienic wall cladding has been so successful in British Pret a Manger kitchens that the products are now being specified in French branches of the restaurant chain.
The latest French Pret a Manger to be fitted with the Altro integrated system has opened in Issy les Moulineaux, just outside Paris.
As with all Pret a Manger outlets, the kitchen is at the heart of the new restaurant. Every aspect of its operation needs to be functional so that hot or cold food can be prepared quickly and safely, whatever the time, however busy the restaurant.
This is why Altro’s integrated system has been so successful in British Pret a Manger restaurants - because it complements this need for functionality in a high-pressure environment, without compromising on aesthetics.
Altro Stronghold 30 safety flooring has been installed in the new Pret a Manger kitchen using a coved skirting, so that it forms an impermeable, continuous surface with Altro Whiterock hygienic wall cladding. This floor-wall solution is easy to clean, resistant to grime and tough enough to tolerate knocks from trolleys and other kitchen equipment.
Altro Stronghold 30 is a 3mm thick safety flooring designed for use in demanding, wet and greasy conditions where frequent spillage is likely, so it is ideal for commercial kitchen use. Boasting Altro’s highest rating for slip resistance, it also offers long-term durability and ease of cleaning as well as added noise reduction, comfort and strength underfoot. Altro Stronghold boasts a 15 year warranty and offers 20 years’ lifetime sustained slip resistance, keeping your risk of a slip to just one in a million over this period of time.
Altro Whiterock is a cost-effective sheet extruded from a high quality, food safe PVCu polymer for operating temperatures up to 60°C. It is waterproof, easy to clean, impact resistant and grout-free. It meets current EU Directives on health and hygiene.
This Altro flooring and walling combination is frequently used in Pret a Manger’s British restaurants, so the management of the French chain decided to replicate the solution in its own outlets.
Pret a Manger Operations Support Manager, Adrien Garcia, said: “The Altro floors and walls in the kitchen can be cleaned with jet washers, which ensures impeccable hygiene while simultaneously saving time on cleaning.
“Our other priority is safety, and the slip-resistant properties of Altro flooring respond perfectly to our demands. In addition, with a certified installer, the installation is extremely quick: the restaurant kitchen at Issy les Moulineaux was completed in one week.”
To match the kitchen, the corridors and cloakrooms in the restaurant have been fitted with Altro Walkway 20 safety flooring, which coordinates perfectly with Altro Stronghold.
