Thank you for considering an Altro product for your home. Whether you have chosen Altro Aquarius or Altro Pisces for your bathroom or Altro Ensemble LVTs or Altro Wood for your living room these products are designed to look good, last for years and keep you safe.

Below are some FAQs to help you in choosing and maintaining your Altro product.

How do I clean my Altro floor?

For regular, general cleaning:

• USE: A domestic neutral cleaner for general cleaning such as Flash all purpose, CIF floor cleaner or Supermarket own brand.


• AVOID: Citrus and pine scented cleaners – mainly due to risk of staining, but in worst cases, damage to your floor


• AVOID: Cleaners in gel form, as these can still be quite thick even after dilution, increasing the risk of residual build- up, which can cause discolouration and damage to your floor

IMPORTANT: to minimise the risk of staining, damage or other hazards occurring with your Altro floor, the manufacturers’ guidelines for correct dilution of the cleaner must followed, and, in accordance with Altro guidelines, the floor must be rinsed with clean water following every cleaning procedure to ensure all traces of the cleaning solution have been removed.

Limescale: to remove domestic limescale deposits

• USE as required: Household product suggestions include Limelite, Viakal, Cillit Bang and supermarket own brands

Domestic mould and mildew remover for mould / mildew build-up

• USE as required: Household product suggestions include Dettol, Cillit Bang and supermarket own brands

IMPORTANT: Always read the manufacturers’ instructions before using any cleaner. Failure to maintain Altro flooring in accordance with recommended procedure can affect the performance of the product.

How do I clean my Altro wall cladding?

For regular cleaning simply wash with water or diluted soap / detergent solutions. Follow the manufacturer’s dilution instructions.
Use a soft cloth only. Do not use abrasive cleaners, pads or wire wool.

Which Altro products are suitable for showers and bathrooms

Altro Aquarius and Altro Pisces are designed specifically for these areas. These slip-resistant floors are suitable for use with bare feet and when wearing shoes.

We also offer Altro Marine for bare foot use in shower cubicles. This product has a dimpled surface to make it slip resistant but some people with sensitive feet, including those with dementia, can find it uncomfortable to stand on. If this is the case then we suggest Altro Aquarius or Altro Pisces instead.

Which Altro products are suitable for living spaces and domestic kitchens?

Altro Wood and Altro Ensemble LVTs are both great looking choices for these areas.
Combine them with Altro Splashbacks in your kitchen to give an easy to clean finish.

Do you offer resin flooring for use in residential homes?

Altro’s range of resin products are designed for commercial buildings such as schools and hospitals. They are not always suitable for domestic environments in your home. If you are considering a resin floor then we suggest you start by finding a resin installer who can help you through the process and give you advice on what product is most suitable.

How do I get the products installed in my home?

Altro do not employ installers but we suggest you get a few quotes to do the work from local installers. It is also useful to ask them to show you examples of work they have previously completed with these types of products. Where can I buy Altro products?

You can buy some products from us directly through our Altrodirect.com online store. We don’t sell all our products online as some require experience to install them correctly. For these products we suggest you start by finding a suitable installer as they will know how to buy not just the Altro product but any other materials such as adhesives and accessories needed to complete the job.

What should I do if I have a problem with the installation?

Start by talking to your installer as they can often fix issues for you. Altro do offer long guarantees on our products which cover the material but not the installation.
