Issue

Austin Health has a commitment to quality care and thoughtful design. With the build of a brand-new mental health facility, providing services for people aged 16 to 65, products that provide hygiene, durability, cleanability and ease of maintenance were required.

Approach

Altro safety floors and wall protection sheets were chosen for all wet areas throughout the facility. To provide a contemporary tile-effect finish, supporting both design intent and practical performance Altro Tegulis was specified for the first time. Altro Tegulis provides the aesthetic appeal of tiles while eliminating common drawbacks such as grout lines, cracking and ongoing maintenance.

Solution

Altro’s bathroom and wet room floor, Altro Aquarius, was paired with Altro Tegulis and Altro Whiterock Satins to create a cohesive, high quality finish throughout the bathrooms and areas prone to splashes.

To further enhance durability in high traffic areas, Altro Fortis wall and door protection sheets were installed. Altro Fortis is built for durability and long-term performance, helping future proof the facility by reducing wear and tear in busy healthcare environments.

Altro Whiterock Satins is a colourful and tonal, satin finish wall sheets with all the hygiene and durability of Altro Whiterock. Versatile and sophisticated, Altro Whiterock Satins is great in wet environments, wards and kitchens.

Altro Fortis Titanium is durable protection for walls, doors and corners. Suitable for busy public areas, subject to high levels of traffic such as in education and healthcare. Altro Fortis Titanium is impervious and easy-to-maintain.
