The Banebo Care Centre is the first project in Viborg’s new district of Banebyen. It is built with 67 nursing rooms on the first and second floor, 33 elderly rooms on the third floor as well as service functions and municipal services including a café, banquet hall, gym, rehabilitation and care home on the ground floor.
The project group consisted of housing company Sct. Jørgen, Viborg Municipality, Erik Arkitekter and Rambøll. For them it was crucial Banebo did not appear to be clinical, but provided a homely and welcoming
For the bathrooms, the project group chose Altro Aquarius safety flooring. A total of 1,700m² were installed.
Altro Aquarius reduces the risk of slipping in bathrooms to one in a million for the life of the floor, whether walking barefoot or with shoes on - and whether there is water, shampoo or soap residue on the floors.

Altro Aquarius provides lasting slip-resistance, so both staff and residents can move around safely. The floor is safe, clean and durable without looking institutional.
The building doesn’t look institutional. We have therefore chosen nature inspired colours, quality materials and fixtures that contribute to a homely feel for residents, staff and visitors so they and thrive in the building.
