Flora Building is a radical and new concept in student accommodation. Focused on holistic wellbeing, the accommodation has been designed in a student-led project. Together with high-end studios and apartments, the resident students also enjoy facilities including bike storage, a courtyard and roof garden, onsite gym, gaming dens and a social hub.
The design team at Ideal Interiors were tasked with bringing a biophilic feel into the accommodation, maximising the impact of emotion-boosting natural colours and the health-enhancing power of light. The floor also needed to be hard-wearing, easy to clean and provide impact sound reduction – helping to reduce the noise in a large and busy student residence.
Altro Ensemble was selected as it met the design criteria but also provided a luxurious feel and offered a wide range of colours. The wood-look design options provided a biophilic feel, together with ease of cleaning thanks to Altro Easyclean™ Technology.
