Nyborg Strand Hotel & Conference Centre is Denmark’s largest conference hotel outside Copenhagen, serving up to 1,500 guests daily. The 1,200 m² central kitchen needed a durable and slip-resistant flooring solution to handle the heavy use. “We had tiles before – they were slippery, hard, and difficult to clean. Trolleys got stuck in the joints, and the dishes arrived to the guest looking messy,” said Kitchen Manager Kasper Marcher Asmussen.
When building the new kitchen in 2020, the hotel chose Altro Stronghold 30 to improve safety and working conditions. The floor was divided into colour zones to support flow. A ‘highway’ in Russet runs through the kitchen – standing still here is not allowed. The contrast with colour Skyline on the rest of the floor helps maintain pace and reduce accidents. The matte finish of Skyline complements the kitchen’s natural daylight.
The floor has reduced slips, improved working conditions, and made kitchen operations smoother. Trolleys now roll freely, and dishes reach the guests just as intended.
