When PS Matsal in Stockholm needed to replace its old kitchen floor, they chose Altro Stronghold 30 – a slip-resistant and stylish floor that contributes to both a calm working environment and an inviting atmosphere.

When the old floor – a classic rubber floor – started to come loose at the seams and feel slippery, the need for a new one became clear. PS Matsal needed a floor that was not only functional but also conveyed the right feeling.

Approach

PS Matsal is far from an ordinary restaurant. Here, food enthusiasts, chefs, and creatives meet in a kitchen that hosts everything from product launches and photo shoots to private dinners and chef events. Since opening nearly 25 years ago, Per Gustafson and his team have built a unique meeting place where food, people, and environment are in focus.

PS Matsal chose Altro Stronghold in the dark shade Abyss for its slip resistance, elegance, and ability to enhance the atmosphere they want to convey – thoughtful, without being pretentious.

Solution

Since the installation, both guests and staff have responded positively, and the new floor has also sparked new ideas.

– Now we’re considering creating a “chef’s table” where guests can sit by the kitchen during dinners. The floor is so beautiful that we want to use the space more!
