For years, installers have been building their skills at the Altro Training Centre in Letchworth Garden City through hands-on courses focused on product knowledge, confidence, and best-practice installation techniques. Now, through our partnership with FloorSkills, the same high-quality training is also available at their training centre in Solihull.
Based in the West Midlands, FloorSkills is Europe's largest independent commercial flooring training centre, delivering accredited training, apprenticeships, and manufacturer-led courses to installers from across the UK. As an approved Altro training partner, they will deliver official Altro training programmes to the same standards as those offered at our Letchworth facility.
The first course available through the partnership is the Advanced Altro Safety Flooring Training course. Aimed at experienced installers, this two-day programme is around 80% practical, providing hands-on training in best-practice safety flooring installation techniques aligned to BS 8203 standards.
Both Altro and FloorSkills are passionate about supporting installer development and helping raise standards across the flooring industry. By making training more accessible, we're allowing more installers to learn new skills, improve consistency on site, and stay up to date with the latest installation methods.
This is just the start, with plans already in place to expand the training offer and bring more Altro courses to the FloorSkills training centre in the future.
Installers can continue to attend courses at the Altro Training Centre in Letchworth Garden City or choose the FloorSkills facility in Solihull, giving them greater flexibility when booking official Altro training.
