We are incredibly proud of everyone involved in supporting and developing apprentices across our manufacturing operations. This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to investing in skills, progression and continuous improvement.
Through our ongoing partnership with Barnet and Southgate College, we continue to deliver structured apprenticeship programmes that support the growth of skilled professionals within our international flooring and wall cladding manufacturing business. Since welcoming our first cohort in 2022, our commitment to learning and development has strengthened with each new intake.
A significant part of this success is thanks to Nick Waldock, Manufacturing Training Coordinator, whose mentorship has made a remarkable impact.
Nick is an encouraging and highly effective role model. He takes time to understand each apprentice’s strengths and challenges, guiding them in a way that builds confidence, independence and belief in their own abilities. His leadership has helped create an environment where apprentices feel supported, valued and empowered to progress.
Alongside this recognition, Paul Conder was awarded Apprenticeship Ambassador of the Year.
A long-standing member of the Manufacturing team, Paul chose to continue his development as a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprentice, completing Functional Skills in maths and English at Level 1 as part of the programme.
Returning to these subjects after many years away from education was a significant challenge, but through hard work and commitment, he achieved his Level 2 apprenticeship with distinction.
Paul has since progressed and is now completing his Level 4 Improvement Practitioner apprenticeship, demonstrating Altro’s culture of continuous improvement and career progression.
At Altro, apprenticeships are central to developing skilled manufacturing professionals and investing in long-term growth. Congratulations to everyone recognised for their outstanding achievements.
