Altro’s Floors and Walls sustainability policy seeks to optimise our performance with respect to the planet’s resources.
Inclusion of post-consumer recyclate in many products in the current portfolio including:
Cardboard and plastic packaging recycled from Resin manufacturing sites.
All shredded paper generated on site is reused as packaging . Committed to FeRFA “Zero Waste To Landfill Scheme”.
Used IBC’s returned for re-use / recycling.
Used metal containers compacted and recycled.
Energy usage monitored and broken down by area to target where savings can be made.
Roller doors installed and other measures introduced to reduce energy use.
Lighting replaced with LED units where possible.
All waste segregated to minimise volume going into landfill.
Packing sizes have been reduced greatly across the range by optimising unit sizes.
Adoption of universal (common) components and pack size for all epoxy products reducing packaging, wasted materials on-site and stock holding.
Used plastic tubs / containers diverted from landfill directed toward recycling and / or waste for fuel.
Waste chemicals not viable for re-use and contaminated materials such as card, rags, used PPE all directed toward waste for fuel.
