Altro Walls ShowerKit sheets are supplied with a protective film on their face which can be left in place until the room is ready for use. This also helps to protect the surface from dust while other trades are in the area.
Each sheet should be closely inspected for any defects before installation including along all edges and if there is any doubt, please contact Altro technical services before installation is started.
The sheets can be fixed directly to most dry substrates depending on their surface suitability, using AltroFix MP600. See detailing diagram W14 for recommended adhesive application. Two tubes of AltroFix MP600 should be used for each sheet.

Sheet - Cutting to be carried out using a fine tooth circular saw with TCT cutting blades and pressure guide, fine tooth blade jigsaw, a fine tooth handsaw, a high speed TCT router.
A high impact extruded one part PVCu backplate combined with colour matched Altro sanitary sealant to form a secure and watertight joint. (G836/24)
Internal corners are normally butt jointed and sealed with Altro sanitary sealant. External corners can be finished with the single part brushed stainless steel external corner trim TEG2.5/TRIM.

Regular cleaning using a soft cloth and a suitably diluted mild detergent is all that is normally required. Stubborn marks can be removed with a non-abrasive domestic type cream bath cleaner. Care must be taken only to use neutral cleaners when cleaning Altro sanitary sealant to avoid yellowing.
Do not use abrasive pads or wire wool. Do not clean above 60°C. Cleaning cards are available on request.
When cutting out or drilling holes into the Altro ShowerKit sheets to accommodate pipes or shower units, ensure a clearance space of 3 mm width is left between the fixed object being cut around and the sheet edge. This gap should then be filled with Altro sanitary sealant (A802/A805) once the sheets are installed, and before any fittings or pipes are installed.
All exposed sheet edges should also be sealed to ensure a watertight seal.
Lack of UV light/sunlight may cause Altro sanitary sealant to yellow.
Altro Walls ShowerKits have a maximum working temperature of 60°C.
Sheets and trims should be stored flat, fully supported and left for 24 hours to attain the ambient room temperature prior to installation (min 14°C). Sheets should be stored between 14°C – 27°C and must not be stored outside in direct sunlight as distortion can occur. AltroFix MP600 should be stored between +5°C to +25°C in its original container.
