Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs for short) are a large complex group of compounds found in water, air, fish and soil throughout the world. Additionally some consumer, commercial and industrial products contain PFAs. PFAs is a general term for thousands of different chemicals used in a variety of products for their unique water-repellent qualities. Most people get exposed to PFAs through:
Known as “forever chemicals,” PFAS are toxic to human health and the environment. These widely used chemicals persist, breaking down slowly, and leaching into water sources. New standards from ASTM have now been developed to address global concerns about the rise of PFAs.
We are happy to report that there no polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs) found in any of our Altro floor and wall products.
