Terrace, British Columbia, Canada - A newly expanded Ksyen Regional Hospital in British Columbia, Canada has been designed to meet the growing needs of its surrounding communities. The facility now includes more than 80 beds, many in private rooms, a larger emergency department with trauma bays, pediatric care areas, and four operating rooms, all supported by the latest diagnostic imaging technology.
HDR Architecture Associates Inc was tasked with creating a modern, welcoming environment that could balance clinical efficiency with patient comfort. To meet the demands of a modern healthcare environment, architects specified a range of Altro flooring and wall solutions carefully selected for performance, hygiene and design flexibility. Products used throughout the facility include Altro Aquarius, Altro Classic 25, Altro Walkway 20, Altro Whiterock, Altro Whiterock Chameleon, Altro Whiterock Shelf Insert, and Altro Puraguard.
Creating calm, patient-friendly spaces was a priority in the Spiritual Care of Ksyen Regional Hospital, where wall finishes like Altro Whiterock Chameleon add color and warmth to traditionally sterile environments, helping reduce patient anxiety and contributing to a more positive care experience. For areas requiring added storage functionality, Altro Whiterock Shelf Inserts deliver hygienic integration without compromising cleanability.
Durability is key in areas with heavy foot and wheeled traffic. Altro Classic 25 and Altro Walkway 20 provide robust, slip-resistant surfaces designed to withstand the wear of daily hospital operations while maintaining visual appeal.
