With over 500 neighborhood locations across 12 states, this organization offers standard physical therapy treatment as well as athletic training, occupational therapy, specialty programs and fitness services to local high schools, colleges and professional sports teams.
When relocating its corporate headquarters to the suburban community of Oak Brook, IL, Athletico collaborated with Wright Heerema Architects for the ideal design. This new facility would feature a new flexible workspace, employee café, town hall area and training suite complete with upgraded telehealth and video conference rooms.
Office environments with employees constantly moving between different areas during their workday require durable flooring solutions capable of enduring heavy foot traffic without compromising aesthetic appeal that can influence visiting guests and employee morale. With this in mind, Wright Heerema specified Altro Lavencia LVT for use throughout the new Athletico facility’s lobby and corridors.
Manufactured locally in the US, Altro Lavencia LVT ensures peak beauty and performance throughout its lifetime, even in areas with consistently heavy traffic. With an array of updated films including wood, stone and modern organic looks, these luxury vinyl planks and tiles combine a warm, welcoming aesthetic with lasting durability courtesy of their commercial-grade urethane finish and 28-mil wear layer.
In addition to its resiliency and realistic visuals, Altro Lavencia’s square-edge construction provides a smooth, uniform surface that prevents bacteria and dirt accumulation between sections. This allows for easy and thorough cleaning, making it a practical design option for busy corporate environments.
In the time following the new Athletico facility’s completion, the team has mentioned that they are pleased with Altro Lavencia’s durability, particularly during harsh winter weather where residual snow and salt have a tendency to wear down flooring. They have also mentioned that the wood visuals blend well with the office décor, giving the space a light and airy vibe.
