Altro Dolce™ Tile
CSL Plasma, a chain of blood and plasma donation centers, teamed up with Novus Architects of Mount pleasant, South Carolina, and selected Altro Dolce Tile as their national specification. The bright and vibrant colors are installed in the front-of-house of offices across the country, and will be used in future projects.
Because of the tiles’ 18”x 18” size, they can easily be arranged to create an inventive design. Novus Architects orders the same five colors in varying percentages for each location, allowing installers to create a random pattern. Every office will look similar, but with some degree of flexibility to encourage uniqueness and ensure there’s a pop of color in each installation.
With impressive durability and stain resistance, Altro Dolce Tile is more than just a wide color range. These enhanced vinyl tiles won’t break or decline in quality like VCT.
Appealing to the eye isn’t just for aesthetics – with blood and plasma donations needed every day, donation centers like CSL Plasma are in a perpetual search for ways to make the experience less intimidating, and one way healthcare establishments are doing so is in the design of the actual facility.
By moving away from the classic hospital white – which is more conducive to creating nerves than quelling them – and creating more colorful interiors, a design can evoke feelings of relaxation and serenity. After all, while Oreos and Mott’s Apple Juice do well to calm after a blood donation, the wait before often comes with nothing to assuage a donor’s ensuing nerves.
Novus Architects has worked with Altro for seven years, and they fell in love with the looks, performance and unique installation capabilities of Altro Dolce Tile.
