Altro Promenade
Located in the heart of Chicago’s historic Fulton Market District, Morgan’s on Fulton offers its patrons an unparalleled private event space for any occasion. Its amenities include elevated in-house catering, a contemporary design and furnishing scheme and its latest addition – a fully retractable glass-enclosed rooftop. The new glass structure provides guests with complete four-season flexibility, accommodating their events in rain, shine or snow.
When selecting flooring for their new rooftop enclosure, Morgan’s would need to prioritize material that could endure seasonal fluctuations in weather and temperature. They would also need to consider rain and excess moisture creating a potential slip risk for the rooftop’s guests and staff. This led the venue to collaborate with local design firm 555 International to find an ideal flooring solution capable of meeting the space’s unique design and safety requirements.
In addition to durability and appropriate slip resistance, 555 International determined that any flooring materials used for the enclosure’s design should provide aesthetic flexibility for the venue’s wide range of special events. From corporate outings and birthday celebrations to wedding receptions and everything in between, these materials had to be able to fit the vibe of any occasion. After careful consideration and a consultation with their regional Altro sales representative, the firm ultimately decided to use Altro Promenade for Morgan’s rooftop.
Designed for both interior and exterior use, Altro Promenade balances adaptable, neutral aesthetics with essential slip resistance for peak performance in areas exposed year-round to changing weather conditions. Its impervious surface prevents rainwater and excess moisture accumulation that can damage subfloors over time, and can withstand harsh sunlight and fluctuating temperatures without cracking or falling apart.
Altro Promenade also offers a low-depth emboss for smooth underfoot comfort as well as enhanced cleanability.
Following the flooring’s installation, 555 mentioned that they were drawn to Altro Promenade’s subtle textured yet uniform look, and that the level of detail in its pattern design can be appreciated when viewed up close. This stylish, practical design option is ready to provide Morgan’s on Fulton with the safety and durability needed to confidently host their exterior celebrations for years to come.
