The William Tuke Research Foundation

Altro provide a speedy solution for community space

Altro Cantata

The William Tuke Research Foundation is a not-for-profit organization set up in 2020 by Dr. Anamaria Churchman and Danny Whittaker. The Foundation aims to engage in innovative mental health research, education and community outreach projects to improve the standards of mental healthcare. The Foundation focuses in particular on communities where the risks of mental illness are the highest, and for whom access to services that can help are the most difficult or unaffordable.

As part of their outreach projects, the William Tuke Research Foundation wanted to set up a wellbeing and gift shop and café space for the community which offers a social space as well as a base for counseling services. Retail premises were provided to the Foundation rent-free for one year, and for that it needed a flooring solution that would be quick and easy to install, look stylish and be easy to maintain.

To fit within the Foundation’s timescales and cause minimal disruption, an adhesive-free flooring was the best solution. The William Tuke Foundation installed Altro Cantata, an adhesive-free floor with acoustic benefits and comfort underfoot, and a range of designs and colors. Although the project was initially planned to take two days, the adhesive-free installation was completed in just five hours.

“The floor looks fantastic. It has been installed in a multi-purpose space with gift shop and a café area, and is the perfect solution – quick to install, good-looking and with sustainable credentials too,” said Whittaker.
