Founded in 1845 by Secretary of the Navy, George Bancroft, the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD has trained some of our countries finest Navymen over the years. The academy was looking to renovate their kitchen, The King Hall Galley, which feeds over 4,000 naval cadets and staff each day. Altro worked with the project team to get the academy one of the most durable flooring options in the market, Altro Atlas 40.
The naval academy needed a floor that was thick in order to withstand lots of heavy, rolling traffic. Along with durability, safety and hygiene were two other points of concern for their food prep area.
