The Petchey Academy in the London Borough of Hackney aims to inspire and support every student to be the best that they can be, providing an orderly, supportive, and inclusive learning environment which allows students to thrive academically. When the academy was built in 2006, an Altro resin floor was installed in the main atrium and dining area. The multi-functional space is used for school events, dining, performances, and large external events when the space is hired out. After over 18 years of hard use and foot traffic, it needed a refresh to ensure the space maintained its good looks and functionality.
The original installers of the resin floor, Resintek, suggested that in place of a brand new floor, the area needed an overlay of resin screed. As the original floor had performed so well, for such a long period of time, the academy were keen to use an Altro resin floor, as they knew and trusted the product. The area was in constant use, so the installation needed to be quick, and with a low level of residual odours. Resintek recommended Altro Mosaic be installed over the top of the Altro Quartz floor to bring the level of technical performance required.
Brighten any environment with resin floor and wall solutions from Altro. Altro Mosaic epoxy resin is available in different systems that encapsulate decorative acrylic flakes to give different finishes: matt or gloss. Choose from a range of 15 different designs for a decorative multi-layer finish that can be applied to walls and floors and looks great as an accent for feature areas.

We are extremely happy with the result. It has freshened up the area, and staff, students and visitors have commented on how good and fresh it looks.
