How do our customers save the most time on installation?

Altro customers share what saves them the most time on installation

We talk a lot about how our installation services can help you save time, but today, we’re letting our customers speak for us…

Matthews Specialty Vehicles, North Carolina, USA

“With Altro’s self-adhesive service we can save an estimated 4 hours on installation time. This has huge implications for savings on labour costs as well as increasing the efficiency of our output of vehicles.”

Cheyne Rauber, Vice President / General Manager, MSV

Matthews Specialty Vehicles are a global leader in the design and manufacture of purpose-built specialty vehicles for applications such as public safety, education, blood collection, and mobile healthcare including mobile medical, mobile dental, and mobile mammography. Their vehicles can be found serving private sector organizations, law enforcement agencies, governments, and military organisations both across the United States and around the world.

For their Bloodmobile, they chose to install Altro Transflor Wood in Iron Bamboo, making use of our self-adhesive service to save both time and weight on their vehicle installations. Cheyne Rauber, the Vice President / General Manager of Matthews Specialty vehicles, told us how they found a time saving of four hours per vehicle by eliminating their adhesive application and curing time. This gave them major savings on labour costs, giving them another level of vehicle installation efficiency.

Chandra Morbey, Innovation and Projects Director, Porterbrook

Altro Transflor Tungsten in a pre-cut kit with logos on the 2019 Porterbrook Innovation Hub

For their 2019 Innovation Hub, Porterbrook invited manufacturers in the UK rail industry to showcase their best innovations for the future of rail travel. Chosen products ranged from flooring and walling to onboard technology. The chosen innovations were installed on an out of service British Rail class 319 and unveiled at Rail Live 2019. Altro was selected to showcase a unique wayfinding design utilising our pre-cut flooring and logo service to improve passenger experience.

Working with an Altro Transport pre-cut kit including logos and signage in Altro Transflor Tungsten meant that fitters were able to adhere to the tight timescales involved in the project, creating a well-executed fit which stood up to the heavy footfall of the Rail Live 2019 event.
