For the Bloodmobile, Matthews Specialty Vehicles needed a durable, watertight safety floor with a range of design options that would create a comfortable environment for both patients and staff, making them feel as if they were in a brick-and-mortar building rather than a vehicle.
Matthews Specialty Vehicles collaborated with interior designers and their customers in order to create an interior all users of the Bloodmobile would love.
Working alongside their customers, Matthews Specialty Vehicles liked the look and feel of Altro Transflor Wood in striking Iron Bamboo because of its modern and warm style. Matthews also chose to use Altro’s self-adhesive service to save time and weight on their vehicles. Asked about their experience with Altro Transflor Wood, Cheyne Rauber said: “It’s easy to install, and we build 80-100 vehicles a year using it. Now with the new self-adhesive flooring provided we can save up to an estimated 4 hours on installation time. This has huge implications for savings on labour costs as well as increasing the efficiency of our output of vehicles.”

With Altro’s self-adhesive service, almost all adhesive application and curing time is eradicated. Simply peel away the white backing to reveal the pre-applied adhesive and install the floor, just as you would in a traditional installation. Once the floor is in place, it can be rolled, welded and walked on immediately, saving precious hours and allowing the rest of the vehicle installation to continue without delay.
