Altro’s combined wet room solution perfect for shower rooms’ refurbishment at LVS Ascot School

LVS Ascot School caters for children aged between four and 18 years old, offering both day attendance as well as boarding opportunities to accommodate pupils both local and international. The school holds places for over 900 students and is based in Ascot, Berkshire, England.

As part of their continual facilities development, LVS Ascot identified two large shower rooms within a girls’ and boys’ dormitory in need of upgrade and refurbishment. The two shower rooms are identical, each containing four shower cubicles and a selection of changing room benches. The refurbishment project was carried out over a three week period during the school’s summer break.

Of particular concern was that the slip-resistant floor covering should be capable of withstanding use by both bare feet and everyday shoes and trainers. As such the specification included Altro Aquarius safety flooring. The color choices available in the Altro Aquarius range were ideal for creating a combined feel of a communal shower facility and residential bathroom necessary to provide pupils with that home away from home feel.

The walls within the rooms were difficult to clean. The design therefore included Altro Whiterock in the color White, providing surfaces that can be easily wiped down.

The school was keen to inject more color into the showers, utilizing other shades from the Altro Whiterock range to create a feature wall in each room. Combined with other Altro Whiterock, this left a bright and stimulating combination.

The overall project was a great success and achieved all that the school hoped for. The design of the rooms and installation was carried out by specialist washrooms refurbishment company Lan Services Ltd.
